ABOUT JUNBO
Junbo Qiu is a writer-director from China.
Born and raised in Hangzhou, Junbo discovered a passion for storytelling early in life, leading him to move to Beijing, where he earned a bachelor's degree from the Beijing Film Academy. He is currently pursuing an MA in Directing Fiction at the National Film and Television School in the UK, where he blends a strong foundation in cinematic tradition with a forward-thinking creative vision.
His recent sci-fi short film, Zeroth Law, was screened on Channel 6 in China and won multiple awards at international festivals, including the First Glance Film Festival Philadelphia, Orlando Film Festival, and Beijing Scientific International Film Festival.
Junbo’s work is characterised by a fascination with speculative storytelling and a keen exploration of themes of humanity, reflecting his commitment to pushing the boundaries of cinematic imagination.
